dc.description.abstract	It is a nice occasion to visit Sri Lanka. Having had the privilege being involved in many rural development projects in about 40 countries in Africa, Asia, and South America, 1 would like to discuss some experiences and contrast the systems with western systems and seriously question whether western agricultural practices should be promoted taking into account environment sustainability and socio-economy.	en_US
