dc.description.abstract Behind every successful organization, the key asset is its employees. Employees’ performance is an essential factor for the success of an organization and employees with good performance are generally more productive at the work place. In human resource management, we can identify many different factors that are affected to employee’s performance. Although organizations must fulfill several other factors to improve the performance of employees and among them Personality Traits play a vital role in employee performance. Personality Traits and Employee Performance are interconnected. Therefore, the study analyses the impact of Personality Traits on Employee Performance in a selected Private Bank in Hambantota District. The main objectives of the study is to examine the effect of Personality Traits on Employee Performance in the selected Private Bank, to determine the current personality traits of employees, to identify the most important personality trait which effect for Employee Performance and to provide practical suggestions to increase Employee Performance though Personality Traits. The literature review clearly identifies the above factors, with the views of previous academics, literature. The list of hypothesis was developed by using above factors. Likewise, the mix methodology has been used for the purpose of this study. The population of the study is the executive staff in the selected Private Bank in Hambantota District and from the identified target population of 156; a sample of 111 was selected under stratified random sampling method. A structured questionnaire was designed, pre-tested, and used to collect data from the selected sample while secondary data was collected through reliable websites, company annual report, books, and journal articles. The research findings revealed that all the components tested as per developed hypothesis showed that there is a positive relationship between Personality Traits and Employee Performance. en_US
